Since 2002, Baptiste Guinaudeau has been the winemaker at Château Lafleur (Société Civile du Château Lafleur), where he manages and farms the estate. The role is broad, but the philosophy behind it is remarkably focused: to remain close to the vines, attentive to the cellar, and committed to the continuity of the place. Today, he continues to shape the house with a steady hand, overseeing both vineyard and cellar at Château Lafleur, with each season’s work folding into the next.

Where They Are Now

Today, Guinaudeau manages and farms the estate at Société Civile du Château Lafleur in Pomerol. His current role is not separated from the landwork; the farming, the cellar decisions, and the final wine are treated as connected parts of the same craft. It is a method that places observation before intervention, and patience before emphasis. He describes himself and his partners first as farmers, a definition that strips away ornament and places the emphasis squarely on the seasons. In his own words: "What are we the champions of? Of nothing. We are, first and foremost, farmers; our lives follow the rhythm of the seasons." The line carries the rhythm of the work itself: grounded, cyclical, unhurried, with no appetite for grandstanding. That same view extends to collaboration and continuity. The result is a Pomerol style tied to purity and restraint, made through farming, patience, and a refusal to force the wine beyond what the estate gives. In this world, the texture matters as much as the structure, and the aim is not to extract but to preserve what is already there.

Signature

Baptiste's signature wines include Château Lafleur, Les Perrières, Château Grand Village, Les Champs Libres, and Château Grand Village red. Together, they reflect the same disciplined approach: wines that speak with clarity, draw their character from the estate, and resist unnecessary embellishment.
