Where They Are Now

Since 1993, the family estate has been the base of Bernhard Ott’s work in Feuersbrunn, where he serves as winemaker at Weingut Bernhard Ott. The role combines Austrian winemaker and fourth-generation farmer of the family vines, with both identities fixed in Wagram in Lower Austria. That kind of inherited position is practical before it is symbolic: the vineyard is not a reference point, but the center of the job. Grüner Veltliner remains the focus, and Ott frames it as a farming question as much as a cellar one. That approach keeps attention on the vineyard’s discipline first, then on what the harvest allows in the wine. The result is a style built from agricultural choices, not detached technique.
