Training at Demeter association gave Birgit Braunstein a framework before she stepped into her own work as a winemaker. That formation is visible in the restraint of the wines and in the emphasis on intent over decoration. Since 1995, her role as owner and winemaker of Weingut Birgit Braunstein has given the estate continuity, with the same focus carried forward year after year.

Site comes before style, and the work is to read what the vineyard offers and translate it without flattening its differences. The result is a body of wines that stays coherent while still allowing each bottling its own voice.

Signature

Birgit's signature wines include Bubbles Frizzante, Wildora, Ried Goldberg Zweigelt, Braunstein Brothers F Blaufränkisch Amphore, and Braunstein Brothers M GV & PB. Together, they show a working range that moves from effervescence to site-marked red wine and from straight expression to the more textured form suggested by amphore. The set points back to a single discipline: letting origin stay legible in the finished wine.
