Since 1993, Charles-Henry Fourny has co-run Veuve Fourny & Fils and made the wine, with the work split between vineyard decisions and cellar discipline. Clos du Faubourg Notre-Dame sits inside that approach. Where They Are Now

He remains winemaker and co-runner, with the production rule stated plainly: “We only make Champagne from Premier and Grand Cru plots, and we only use grape juice from the first pressing.” The estate’s own shorthand is just as direct: “One family, one clos, one Premier Cru.” That framing leaves little room for ornament. The work is built around site selection, first-press juice, and a style that depends on restraint more than intervention. In Charles-Henry Fourny’s hands, the logic is consistent: define the boundaries tightly, then let the material carry the house character.
