i. Biography
Charles Symington is the head winemaker of Symington Family Estates in Portugal and a fourth-generation family member involved in the company’s Douro and Port production. In 2024, Symington Family Estates announced him as the next President of the Primum Familiae Vini for the July 2024 to June 2025 term, and in 2025 the company said he would become co-CEO while continuing to oversee wine production. He is publicly associated with Quinta do Bomfim, where he is named as winemaker, and with the family’s Port and Douro wines, including Dow’s vintage Port.
