Early professional experience gave Christelle Sorge two distinct points of reference: a winemaking stint in Australia and a stagiaire placement at three classified first growths in Bordeaux, France. Those posts sit at the start of her career as practical training grounds, each adding perspective before the return to the family property in Soussans. The balance between international exposure and a home estate gives her path its shape. Since 2002, Christelle has been winemaker / responsible for Château Deyrem Valentin at Château Deyrem Valentin, where the role has required steady oversight rather than distance. The work is grounded in the daily demands of the property and in the continuity of carrying a family name forward. It is a hands-on position, defined by attention to the estate, its vines, and the routine responsibilities that come with long service to one place.

The Work Today

The work remains tied to the family property and to daily presence on site. That kind of rootedness matters in vineyard and cellar work because it turns familiarity into a working tool.
