David Lai is the Hong Kong-based chef-owner of Neighborhood, a restaurant on Hollywood Road in Central, Hong Kong, which he opened in 2014. The restaurant’s cooking is described as simple, seasonal, and largely French-leaning, shaped by Lai’s early inspiration from Alice Waters at Chez Panisse and training/work experience in San Francisco and Hong Kong.
