The Path

Training at Bruckner Conservatory of Linz gave Ferdinand Mayr a formal grounding in precision and sensitivity, qualities that carried from music into wine. That early formation was followed by a long period as teacher of music (1990–2002), where the work centered on instruction, attention, and high standards. In trade terms, the point is not biography for its own sake, but method: a professional life built on practice, interpretation, and patience. The arrangement says something plain about the craft: theory and execution are not separated here, and the classroom remains in step with the cellar. The result is a career that has developed by accumulation, not interruption.

The Work Today

Today, Ferdinand serves as Managing Partner and CEO of the company in Mauerstetten, Germany, while also continuing his work at the Austrian Wine Academy and producing Austrian wines in Austria. The roles ask for management, teaching, and production at once, but they are held together by the same standard of exactness. He has said, "Wine has been my career and my calling for many years now." That position is matched by another statement of intent: "Authenticity combined with quality is a matter that is near and dear to me."

Ferdinand's signature dishes include KAISERWETTER, NA ALSDANN, Von Der Land Zweigelt, Exclusiv Blaufränkisch, and Exklusiv Grüner Veltliner. Taken together, they sketch a producer attentive to identity, structure, and the character of each bottle, with a range that speaks to both individuality and consistency.
