Study at the University of Udine gave Giancarlo Tommasi the base that would carry into cellar work: a disciplined training ground before the harder lessons of vineyard and production. From there, the work moved into Casisano in Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy, where he served as Head Winemaker guiding production. Tommasi’s current role as winemaker at Tommasi continues that same line of work in Pedemonte di Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy. The through-line is methodical rather than dramatic: structure, provenance, and consistency treated as working principles. His career reads as refinement of a craft already grounded in identity.
