Hervé Villemade

Hervé Villemade is a winemaker and viticulturist based in Cellettes in the Cheverny appellation of France’s Loire Valley. He took over the family estate in 1995, a domaine founded in 1939 by his grandfather Désiré, and later expanded the vineyard holdings; the estate now covers about 23-25 hectares across Cellettes, Chitenay, and Fougères-sur-Bièvre. His wines are made with a natural-winemaking approach emphasizing organic vineyard work, minimal intervention in the cellar, and little or no added sulfur except a minimal dose at bottling.
