Puligny-Montrachet work at family scale depends on parcel memory as much as cellar routine. At Domaine Thomas-Collardot, which Jacqueline Collardot runs with her son Matthieu, that memory sits in vines passed through three generations of her family, in training at CFPPA in Beaune, and in the record of Pierre Thomas, her father, who ran the vineyards until 1992. The Path
Viticulture training at CFPPA, in Beaune, gave Jacqueline Collardot the technical and practical base for the work that followed at Domaine Thomas-Collardot. The cellar method is classical and direct: fermentation and élevage take place in barrel, followed by three months of settling in stainless steel before bottling. Early harvesting is central to the style, supporting wines described as classically formed and bright. The approach is not built to cover origin; it is set up to keep freshness, proportion, and site expression visible. The wines are described as generous without being opulent, with clear expression of individual terroirs. For a small family domaine working Puligny sites at close range, the certification is a concrete credential, tied to the estate’s post-2010 return to family hands and to the later work alongside Matthieu. Puligny Enseignères has become the bottling most clearly singled out within the range. William Kelley described it as a terrific old-vine wine and the pick of the Domaine Thomas-Collardot range. In a tiny set of holdings, that notice identifies Enseignères as a key expression of the domaine’s Puligny work under Jacqueline Collardot: bright, proportioned, and tied to place.
