Jean-Claude Martin

Jean-Claude (JC) Martin is the Swiss-born co-founder, co-owner, viticulturist, and cellarmaster of Creation Wines on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge in South Africa. Creation Wines says the estate was established in 2002 by Jean-Claude and Carolyn Martin, and its official materials describe Martin’s winemaking philosophy as “enhancing the beauty of nature” through sustainable vineyards and a terroir-reflective cellar program. Reporting on the estate also identifies him as the winemaker and notes he planted the first vineyard in 2003 and helped move the business into its own winery by 2007.
