Jeff Cole has been winemaker at Sullivan Rutherford Estate in Rutherford since 2013, and Rutherford Merlot is the variety most closely associated with his work there. Trained at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, he brings a method built on discipline, balance, and attention to site expression. Before Sullivan Rutherford Estate, he spent 2006 to 2013 at Schramsberg, a stretch that added range and depth to his winemaking practice.
