Joannès Rivière

Joannès Rivière is a French chef and co-owner of Cuisine Wat Damnak in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where he serves Cambodian cuisine shaped by French technique and locally sourced ingredients. He came to Cambodia in 2003 as a volunteer cooking teacher at Sala Bai Hotel School, later worked five years at the Hôtel de la Paix in Siem Reap, and opened Cuisine Wat Damnak with Carole Salmon in 2011. He is fluent in Khmer and as a chef whose menus draw on Cambodian food traditions and seasonality.
