i. Biography
Coming Up
Loire Sauvignon Blanc rewards precise reading, and Joost de Willebois built that habit from an earlier career in finance, where structure and discipline already mattered. At Domaine J. De Villebois, founded in 2004, that same approach shows up in the way each parcel is treated as distinct ground to be interpreted rather than flattened into a single style. Since 2024, his work has also extended to the Kelp Blue Ambassador Farm program, adding a stewardship role beyond the estate.
Where They Are Now
Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire remains the center of Joost de Willebois’s work at Domaine J. De Villebois. The method is attentive and restrained: read the soils, respect the differences, and let the wines carry that detail forward. The estate’s identity rests on that translation between site and bottle, with ownership tied to daily decisions and to a working curiosity about what the Loire can express when it is handled with care.
In Their Words “We like to think of ourselves as translators; we strive to understand the original language of each of our soils.”
