i. Biography
Karen Lynne Akunowicz is the chef/owner of Fox & the Knife Enoteca in South Boston and Bar Volpe Ristorante & Pastificio in Boston. She won the 2018 James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Northeast, and Fox & the Knife opened in 2019 while Bar Volpe opened in 2021, both reflecting her focus on Italian cuisine shaped by time spent living and cooking in Modena and southern Italy.
