Before the winery title, the work was built in vineyards. Lindsey Wallingford studied and worked in vineyards at Washington State vineyards in Washington State, then moved into winemaking at Screaming Eagle in Napa Valley until 2018 and at Bryant Family Vineyard in Napa Valley until 2018. That sequence gave the career its basic structure: close attention to the vine and the cellar, and an understanding that what happens in the rows is already shaping what can be done later in the glass. Since 2018, Lindsey has been Winemaker and Vineyard Manager of Saint Helena Winery.

Where They Are Now

At Saint Helena Winery, the pairing of winemaking and vineyard management is practical, not decorative. Lindsey Wallingford’s approach is built around the belief that the best wines are made in the vineyard, and the job reflects that belief through single-clone fermentations and estate farming practices that shape the fruit before it is handled as wine. Each vineyard decision enters the finished wine as texture, tone, and structure. Sustainable farming is part of the discipline on the estate. Organic farming, minimizing tillage, introducing honey bees, and encouraging biodiversity are treated as working methods rather than marketing language. The result is a practice that keeps Lindsey Wallingford close to the soil and to the living systems around the vines, with farming set up as the first stage of winemaking. The estate remains rooted in place, but the bottle is meant to move beyond it. The point is not isolation; it is a wine that can sit at different tables and still carry the conditions of its making, making room for a shared moment across different lives.
