Working inside the Moët Hennessy Wine Division in Argentina gave Lucas Löwi an early grounding in the pace and discipline of the fine-wine trade. The move from Moët Hennessy Wine Division in Argentina to Estate Director at Bodega Numanthia in Toro, Spain, shifted that experience into a region with a strong identity and deep-rooted tradition. At Bodegas Terrazas de los Andes in Mendoza, that path now sits inside a house where altitude, terroir, and ambition are part of the brief.

Today

High-altitude Argentine wine is the frame for the work at Terrazas de los Andes, where Lucas Löwi leads as CEO. His own wording is direct about the estate’s aim: "Extremo Malbec represents the pinnacle of our Ascension Journey and our vision for mountain winemaking." The line reflects how he describes the cellar’s output, with elevation and place treated as part of the wine’s structure rather than its marketing. Under his direction, Terrazas de los Andes is presented as mountain winemaking shaped by precision and clear intent.

Signature

Extremo Malbec 2022 and Thermanthia are the wines that sit closest to Lucas Löwi’s professional identity. Extremo Malbec 2022 carries the language he uses to describe the estate’s work: ascent, mountain winemaking, and the idea of a pinnacle reached through altitude. Thermanthia ties back to Bodega Numanthia, where that vocabulary was already being formed in another landscape.

Recognition

In Spain there are only two LVMH Maisons, both firmly rooted in their Spanish heritage. Bodega Numanthia and Loewe share the same essence: two maisons connected by the same culture and values of luxury, excellence and craftsmanship. For Lucas Löwi, the through-line is not rhetoric but position: estates, maison culture, and a consistent focus on altitude as a working principle in wine.
