    Mario Carbone is a chef and co-founder of Major Food Group, alongside Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick, known for redefining Italian-American cuisine through restaurants like Carbone in New York, opened in 2014, with outposts in Hong Kong, Miami Beach, Las Vegas, and London. Born and raised in Queens, New York, he began cooking at neighborhood restaurants at age 15 and advanced through roles at Babbo, Lupa, Del Posto (where he was Executive Sous Chef during its 2007 two-Michelin-star award), before launching Torrisi Italian Specialties in 2009 and Parm. His group's concepts, including ZZ’s Clam Bar and Contessa, have earned James Beard nominations for Best New Restaurant and Michelin stars.
