Mark H Furstenberg

Mark H. Furstenberg is a Washington, D.C.-based baker, entrepreneur, and food writer who became a professional baker in his 50s after earlier careers in government, journalism, and business. He opened Marvelous Market in 1990, later founded The BreadLine in 1997, and opened Bread Furst in 2014. His work helped popularize artisan bread in Washington, and he won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Baker.
