The Work Today

At Larner Vineyard & Winery, Larner works as Winemaker and Vineyard Manager, shifting between the long view of the vineyard and the exacting details of the bottle. His craft centers on limited-production, ultra-premium wines made from Larner Vineyard grapes, keeping the source of the fruit close to the identity of the wine. The result is work that stays visibly tied to where it begins. The 2014 Malvasia Bianca gives that work a dated marker: estate grown on his vineyard in Ballard Canyon, it ties grape, site, and vintage into a single named wine. It is the kind of detail that reads like a signature, quietly insisting on origin and place.
