Paul Hobbs is a California winemaker and the founder of Paul Hobbs Winery, established in Sebastopol in 1991. He is also a founding partner and winemaker at Viña Cobos in Mendoza, Argentina, where he has worked since 1988 to explore terroirs in Luján de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. Public sources also place him in the history of Robert Mondavi Winery and earlier work at Opus One and Simi, but the provided official sources only directly confirm his own winery and Viña Cobos roles.
