Training at University of California, Los Angeles (1973) and California State University, Fresno gave Phil Steinschriber a formal base before his work moved between California and Israel. That combination of academic grounding and regional movement matters in winemaking: it builds fluency across sites, cellar cultures, and the practical discipline needed to keep a program consistent over time. In 1991, Steinschriber took on the role of winemaker at Diamond Creek Vineyards, where he remained until 2020.
