The Estate

Azienda Agricola Renato Corino is the working address for the wines made by Corino in La Morra, Italy. Since 2005, Renato Corino has produced wines there under his own name, with the role defined in practical terms: winemaker, estate, vintage, bottle. The decision to make his own wines also marked a break in family work, and Renato Corino has described that strain without softening it: "It's hard for two brothers to stay together when they both want to make the decisions." He framed the other side of that split just as plainly: "But it's just as hard to separate, after working together for 20 years." Read that way, the estate’s beginning is not a clean founding date but a reordering of responsibility, judgment, and daily work.

In the Cellar

After 2005, the work for Corino extended beyond fermentation. "Now we each have to think of every aspect of the winemaking and commercializing process." In the cellar, that means the making of wine cannot be separated from the decisions that carry it outward: what is bottled, how it is presented, and how the estate name is read beyond the vineyard. In 2016, the new winery was situated in the heart of the Arborina cru vineyard of Barolo. That placement gives the estate a precise working location: Barolo as the category, Arborina as the named vineyard site for the new winery. The craft identified with Renato Corino is Barolo. In his case, that specialty appears through the estate’s named bottlings, not through a broad portfolio claim.

The Bottlings

Barolo Riserva DOCG is one of the signature works associated with Renato Corino. The designation places the wine in the Barolo register, with both appellation and riserva status named on the bottle. Barolo Roncaglie, 2001 is another named work. The vintage fixes the bottle to a single year, giving Corino’s output a specific marker rather than a general style description. Taken together, those wines keep the focus on place and selection: La Morra as the estate’s home, Arborina as the site of the new winery in 2016, and Barolo as the specialty that runs from cellar to label.

Renato's signature wines include Barolo DOCG Rocche dell'Annunziata, Barolo Riserva DOCG, Barolo Roncaglie, Dolcetto d'Alba, and Barbera d'Alba.
