Richard Bailey is the founder and longtime leader behind The Brando, the luxury eco-resort on Tetiaroa in French Polynesia, a project built around Marlon Brando’s vision for a sustainable private-island retreat. He is also described by organizations focused on sustainable hospitality as the founder of Pacific Beachcomber and of the Tetiaroa Society, and as a recognized pioneer in sustainable hospitality. Public coverage credits him with bringing The Brando to fruition and opening the resort in 2014.
