i. Biography
Richie Ribando is a sommelier at Cariño in Chicago, where he has developed a Central- and South-American-focused wine program. Richie previously led wine programs at several of Chicago’s notable restaurants, moved to Chicago in 2010, joined One Sixtyblue, and later became captain and then head sommelier at Smyth and The Loyalist before leaving in 2020 to work in consulting and distribution. He is a Jean Banchet Award-nominated sommelier, and his earlier work includes roles at Next and Elizabeth.
