The Climb

Since 2017, Romain Decelle has been propriétaire and vigneron of Domaine de Boisseyt. For the 11-hectare estate, that meant both continuity and a reset, shaped by a project developed with his father and selected by Didier Chol from among many proposals. Domaine de Boisseyt is therefore less a simple acquisition than a deliberate handover of intent, where the long view remains central to the work.

Today

He continues there as vigneron and winemaker, working with the patience that old vineyards require. At Domaine de Boisseyt, the focus stays on parcels whose character is already embedded in the land. Syrah, Viognier, and Côte Rôtie define the estate’s frame, with the work organized around the vineyard rather than imposed on it. The style favors texture, nuance, and fidelity to origin, so each parcel can register on its own terms.

Signature

Romain's signature dishes include Les Garipelées, Les Rivoires, Les Corbonnes, and Côte Blonde. These names map the estate’s geography with precision, each tied to a parcel or expression that reflects the house’s focus on old vines and disciplined élevage. Taken together, they describe Domaine de Boisseyt’s identity: rooted, exacting, and attentive to the differences that separate one site from another.

Recognition

Old vines define the estate’s Syrah, Viognier, and Côte Rôtie parcels. That gives Domaine de Boisseyt its base: concentration over excess, depth over display. In Romain Decelle’s hands, the estate’s strength comes from a disciplined relationship with the vineyard, where age functions as a resource and each parcel contributes to a coherent whole.
