i. Biography
Sandra Tavares da Silva is the co-owner, founder, and winemaker of Wine & Soul in Portugal's Douro Valley and the responsible winemaker at her family's Quinta da Chocapalha in the Lisboa region. After studying agronomy in Lisbon and completing a master's degree in enology in Piacenza, she moved to the Douro in 1999. She and Jorge Serôdio Borges founded Wine & Soul in 2001, beginning with Pintas and later acquiring Quinta da Manoella, while she continues to lead Chocapalha's winemaking with Miguel Cavaco on the enology team.
