i. Biography
Stefan Doktor is the managing director and estate manager of Schloss Johannisberg in Geisenheim-Johannisberg, Rheingau, where he has worked since 2008 and has led the estate since 2016. Public profiles and estate materials describe him as the face of the operation, working alongside technical lead Marcel Szopa, and note that he oversees the management of one of the world’s most historic Riesling estates. He is originally from Slovakia and studied at the Austrian Wine Academy, earning a diploma in Wine and Spirits and IHK certification as a sommelier.
