The house is small in scale, and the portfolio stays broad enough to meet Virginia’s varied growing conditions: Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Traminette, Vidal, Chardonnel, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Chambourcin all sit within the program. His signature wines, including Destiny, The Professor’s Crazy Transformation, Fireside Chat, and Soul Singer, make room for a certain playfulness on the label. The cellar still has to carry the idea.

A Virginia program built across varieties

The wines at Beliveau Farm Winery move through still red, still white, and still rosé rather than a single narrow house lane. That breadth matters in Blacksburg, where the work sits on a mountaintop estate in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the maker has to read the season before the bottle can speak. The property covers 165 acres, with vineyards, lavender fields, hiking trails, and Catawba Valley views around the winery. Those details are not decoration for the wine program; they are the conditions surrounding the labor.

Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc give the red program familiar Virginia anchors. Vidal, Traminette, and Chardonnel bring the white side into a cooler, aromatic register. Chambourcin and Tempranillo widen the bench. The method, as far as the winery allows the reader to see it, is one of range held inside place rather than novelty for its own sake.

The tasting room, the vineyard, the mountain

The room at Beliveau Farm Winery is quiet by design, with a fireplace inside and outdoor seating set among vineyard rows and lavender.
