    Vincent Chaperon’s vintages

    • Pearl 5 Star Prestige · 2025

Vincent Chaperon is the Cellar Master behind Dom Pérignon’s current vintages. His brief begins with a constraint: the house makes wine from one harvest year at a time and can decline to declare a vintage. Once a year is selected, assemblage brings its component wines into a coherent expression.

The work behind a declared year

The harvest sets the limits, but Chaperon’s selection and blending decide how its character reaches the bottle. Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018, presented in 2026, was the first vintage made entirely under his direction. It offers a clear point of reference for his work rather than a claim that one vineyard or grape defines the wine.

    Time as a cellar decision

After blending, the wine matures on its lees. The house gives at least eight years for a standard Vintage, with longer periods for Rosé and Plénitude 2. The craft lies in choosing what to declare, how to assemble the year and when the wine is ready to leave the cellar.
