Drappier

Carte d’Or has carried Drappier’s yellow label since André and Micheline Drappier created the cuvée in 1952. At the Urville house, that recognizable bottle sits alongside a distinctive cellar practice: a slow, low-temperature prise de mousse that Drappier associates with fine effervescence.

What the cellar visit covers

The house offers a cellar tour at 2:30 p.m. followed by a tasting, as well as a tasting without the tour. Drappier’s use of oak foudres for some wines gives the cellar visit a tangible production subject. Both standard options require a reservation.

The picnic is a separate experience

From April through October, Drappier also offers a gourmet picnic that includes the cellar tour, tasting, local products, and one bottle from its selection for two guests. Those food and bottle inclusions belong to the picnic rather than the ordinary cellar visit. The house lists Saturday hours alongside weekdays and closes on Sundays and public holidays; check availability and confirm the format when booking.
