i. Biography
Andrew Hales is a Penfolds winemaker based in South Australia and has been with the Penfolds winemaking team since 2017. Penfolds says he is responsible for wines including Bin 169, Bin 707, Bin 407, Bin 128, and wines in the Max’s range, and that he also manages Penfolds’ Nuriootpa premium vineyards and Limestone Coast regions including Coonawarra and Robe. He describes his winemaking focus as classic wines with elegance, finesse, balanced structure, texture, and longevity.
