Sommelier training gave Angela D'Orazio a formal base in tasting and assessment; the rest of her profile was built inside whisky production, where sensory work and development decisions matter. At Mackmyra, she moved through external whisky sensory panel member, whisky consultant, head of development, and master blender at Mackmyra in Sweden (until 2025), a sequence that places blending, evaluation, and recipe development in the same working line. That same technical frame carried into governance and education: Angela D'Orazio served as chair at Swedish Spirits Academy, then from 2025 stepped into the role of creative director of whiskymaking at Compass Box, where the remit stays with blending rather than branding.

Angela D'Orazio has received Whisky Hall of Fame, inductee (2019). Angela D'Orazio's honors include Whisky Magazine Hall of Fame inductee. In trade terms, that places her work within the small group of blenders and whisky developers whose practice has been formally recognized by the field.
