i. Biography
Jean-Charles le Bault de la Morinière is the longtime owner and former director of Domaine Bonneau du Martray in Pernand-Vergelesses, Burgundy, a family estate focused exclusively on Corton Grand Cru vineyards and best known for Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru. He joined the domaine in the early 1990s after a career as an architect in Paris specializing in the restoration of historical monuments, then took over the estate in 1994 and later helped guide its organic and biodynamic conversion. The domaine was sold in 2017 to E. Stanley Kroenke, ending the family’s direct ownership.
