Jean Thévenet

Jean Thévenet is a Burgundian winemaker associated with Domaine de la Bongran in Quintaine, in the Viré-Clessé/Mâconnais area of Burgundy. The estate says Jean Thévenet officially succeeded Émile in 1972, and sources consistently describe him as a pioneer of organic viticulture and minimal intervention, later handing operational control to his son Gautier in 2000. His family’s Domaine de la Bongran is known for distinctive Viré-Clessé wines, including cuvées under the Thévenet name, and for emphasizing late harvesting and Chardonnay-based wines with residual sugar.
