José Avillez is a Portuguese chef and restaurateur born in Lisbon, who graduated in Business Communication with a thesis on Portuguese gastronomy before starting his career at Fortaleza do Guincho in Cascais. He owns over a dozen restaurants primarily in Lisbon and Porto, including Tasca by José Avillez in Dubai at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira Beach.
