Kareem El-Ghayesh is the owner and pitmaster of KG BBQ in Austin, Texas, where he serves Texas barbecue shaped by Egyptian and Middle Eastern flavors. He was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, later moved to Austin after discovering Texas barbecue, and opened KG BBQ in October 2022 after years of private dinners and pop-ups. His work at KG BBQ has earned Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition and national attention for its Egyptian-Texan barbecue concept.
