i. Biography
Koh Yung Shen is the founder and owner-bartender of Backdoor Bodega in George Town, Penang, a speakeasy-style bar hidden behind The Swagger Salon. He has said he had no bartending experience when he started the bar in 2016, after working in advertising and running clothing and branding businesses; the bar later became one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars and won World’s Best Cocktail Menu 2025.
