i. Biography
L.C. Richardson was the founder and namesake of LC’s Bar-B-Q in Kansas City, which he opened in 1986 after retiring from Farmland Industries. He had moved to Kansas City in 1953, worked in restaurants, and later served as executive chef for Farmland Industries from 1973 to 1986 before launching his own barbecue restaurant. After his death in February 2021 at age 86, the restaurant continued under his granddaughter Tausha Hammett.
