Michael Bairdsmith

Michael Bairdsmith is Assistant Winemaker at Ridge Vineyards’ Lytton Springs winery in Healdsburg, Sonoma County. A Northern California native, he first studied English Literature at UC Davis, worked in the restaurant industry after moving to Healdsburg in 2000, then entered winemaking in 2003 as a cellar intern at a small Dry Creek Valley winery before returning to school for an associate’s degree in Enology. He joined Ridge at Lytton Springs in 2014 and has described Ridge’s no-additives, site-focused winemaking as a major shift from his earlier, more industrial winery experience.
