Early Years
The Reynaud family began planting vines in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the 1880s at the Les Berdines lieu-dit, setting down the parcels that would shape Nathalie Reynaud’s work generations later. Some vineyards now belonging to the Courthézon domaine have been in her family for five generations, a continuity that gives the estate its long view before any bottle reaches a table. Before Reynaud began making wines from the estate’s vineyards, her parents delivered grapes to Cellier des Princess until 2011. That history matters in practical terms: the fruit was already there, the parcels already known, but the family had not yet bottled wines from the Les Berdines parcel under its own direction.
Making a Name
In 2012, Reynaud stopped selling grapes to the local cooperative, and Domaine l'Abbe Dine was born from a shared family passion. The shift changed the family’s place in the chain: from growers supplying grapes to producers putting their own name, judgment, and farming choices behind the finished wines. She became the first person to bottle wines from the family’s Les Berdines parcel. Her land is divided into different parcels, producing rich and varied wines, and the domaine uses only organic farming techniques. The range centers on Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône Village, Côtes du Rhône and Vins de Pays wines. Among the signature works is Chateauneuf du Pape La Réserve des Cieu, with the 2018 vintage identified as its debut; the domaine also produces one Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge wine, made from a blend led by old-vine Grenache.
The Present
As operations manager and managing director, Reynaud now carries the Courthézon estate’s daily direction while continuing the family tradition begun long before the 2012 founding. The role sits where vineyard inheritance, organic technique, parcel-by-parcel farming, and bottle-by-bottle identity meet.
