Renzo Cotarella is the CEO and chief enologist of Marchesi Antinori, overseeing winemaking across estates including Tenuta Tignanello in Tuscany, Tenuta Guado al Tasso in Bolgheri, and Antinori nel Chianti Classico. Born on November 16, 1954, in Monterubiaglio near Orvieto, Umbria, he graduated in industrial chemistry and agronomy, began his career at Castello della Sala in 1979 or 1981, and assumed responsibility for all Antinori operations in the mid-1990s. He is renowned for crafting Super Tuscans like Tignanello and Solaia, with the latter named Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year in 2000, and Cervaro della Sala, a Chardonnay-Grechetto blend from Umbria.
