The Path

Estate continuity and conversion define the line of work: Gut Oggau began when Steffi Tscheppe became co-founder and wine producer in 2006, after the property was taken over and rebuilt as the center of production.

The Work Today

Biodynamic and Demeter certified wine production remains the operating frame at Gut Oggau. From 2006 to present, Tscheppe has worked there as co-founder and wine producer, with the estate continuing as the center of her current work with Eduard Tscheppe-Eselböck.

In Their Words “We are based in Austria in the beautiful Burgenland where we bought the estate at the end of 2006. We had our first vintage in 2007 and since then, we have been producing biodynamic and Demeter certified wines.”

Acclaim

The clearest public measure of the project is its own production statement: the estate was bought at the end of 2006, the first vintage followed in 2007, and the work since has been biodynamic and Demeter certified. In that account, Tscheppe’s acclaim sits less in external citation than in the sustained definition of the estate’s method and place.
