i. Biography
Stephen Beckta is the president of the Beckta Restaurant Group and the proprietor of Beckta Dining & Wine, Play Food & Wine, and Gezellig in Ottawa. He is part of the team welcoming guests to the Westboro restaurant, while a 2025 team page states he graduated with honours from Algonquin College’s Sommelier program and later spent four years in New York City working at Café Boulud and Eleven Madison Park before returning to Ottawa.
