The Path

Irish whiskey production is the foundation here: work at Cooley Distillery in Cooley, County Louth (until 2011) gave Stephen Teeling a practical education in distillation, built alongside his father and in step with the daily discipline of the trade. That early exposure sits behind the way the business is handled now—process-led, but always measured against what ends up in the bottle. From there, Teeling Whiskey (since 2012) and Teeling Whiskey Distillery (since 2015) carried the family name into a new phase, with Irish whiskey still doing the main work.

The Work Today

The current remit sits across production, brand, and market. As co-founder of Teeling Whiskey, Stephen Teeling helps shape the company’s direction in Irish whiskey, keeping the specialty and its standards at the center of the work. As co-founder of Teeling Whiskey Distillery, he also gives the label a Dublin base for production and for the public-facing side of the business. Sales and Marketing Director at Teeling Whiskey Company in Dublin is the role that links the spirit to the shelf, turning technical character into commercial recognition. The strategic brief has also extended to TEELING Irish Whiskey, where he has served as strategic advisor. Acclaim

Stephen Teeling has received World Whiskies Awards — World’s Best Single Malt (2019). The core achievement is the building of a modern Irish whiskey company from 2012 onward and the opening, with Jack Teeling, of a new distillery in Dublin in 2015. That matters less as a matter of scale than of structure: a defined specialty, a Dublin address, and a brand identity carried through with clear intent.
