T. J. Steele is the chef-owner of Claro in Gowanus, Brooklyn, an Oaxacan-influenced restaurant he opened in the summer of 2017. His cooking at Claro emphasizes seasonal ingredients, house-made masa, barbacoa, consommé, and mezcal, and the restaurant earned a Michelin star after opening.
