i. Biography
Tryson Quek is the Singaporean co-owner and chef-turned-bartender behind Side Door, a cocktail bar and restaurant at 3 Neil Road in Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar/Duxton area, which he runs with his wife, Bannie Kang. He and Kang first launched Side Door as a private-dining concept in their home before moving the business into a full-fledged commercial space on Neil Road. In 2025, Quek won World Class Bartender of the Year Singapore, with media coverage describing him as the chef half of Side Door and an owner of the venue.
