Altus Treurnicht

Altus Treurnicht is a South African winemaker associated with Meerlust Estate in Stellenbosch and Compagniesdrift. Meerlust’s site says he grew up on the Cape west coast, completed winemaking studies at Elsenburg Agricultural College in 2005, did a harvest in Sonoma County in 2006, completed a viticulture diploma in 2007, and later rejoined Meerlust as winemaker in 2018. He is the brand’s winemaker and says its wines are crafted by him in addition to his work at Meerlust.
