Training at Elsenburg Agricultural College gave Anri Truter the technical base for a career that started with a Fruit Board bursary commitment at Fruit Board in 1979. Those early years were practical by necessity: hands-on seasons, steady repetition, and the discipline required to learn viticulture and winemaking from the ground up. The result was a foundation built less on ceremony than on contact with the work itself. At Kanonkop, where Anri served as third winemaker from 1981–1988, the demands of detail and consistency sharpened that foundation.
